Scientific Researcher III

  • Designed single layer (MgF2), double and multilayer optical coatings from UV-VIS-NIR, and for IR spectra range (3-5μm and 10- 12μm), Cube beam splitter, Notch Filter, Laser Mirrors, and Metal Mirrors. Design optical coating LRC lowered chrome reflective (AR coating of Cr2O3) and optical density controlled for parts photolithography.

  • Developed coating for ITO layer (15 OHM), (20 OHM), (24 OHM), (30 OHM), (sputtering DC) with an antireflection coating used by the CVD technique.

  • Developed hard carbon coating from spectral range (3-5 μm) substrate: Ge, Si and (8-12 μm) substrate: Ge.

  • Developed work procedures for technologies like vacuum machines Leybold and Balzer.

  • Coordinated production managed a team of 12 people, and evaluated monthly and annual KPIs. 

  • Delivered exact product specifications to customers under deadlines.

  • Analyzed date with Spectrophotometer measurements (Lambda 950, OpticaFtir - Perkin Elmer).

  • As a Ph.D. student, researched optical surface characterization by TEM, SEM, and Ellipsometry Spectroscopy for different films, layers, and interfaces.

  • Applied scientific research to develop national, primary, and reference standards and traceability to SI units.

  • Taught lab technologists in groups of up to 20 people to operate chemistry and physics lab equipment.

  • Evaluated technologists’ operation of lab equipment and certified them once they demonstrated proficiency

  • Improved the principles of metrology in chemistry and physics development and used reference materials in chemistry and physics measurements for the following types of equipment:

    • UV-VIS spectrophotometers, absorption spectrophotometers, FT-IR spectrometers, IPC-OS spectrometers, Flam photometers, pH-meters, metrological checks.

  • Created certified reference materials, model tests, and provided technical support to customers.

Training
  • LNE – Paris (France) - Training ICPMS, project EMPIR 16RPT01Chem Mat 20.05.2018 -25.05.2018 (5 days). Developed traceable measurement capabilities for the analysis of heavy metals with uncertainties less than 10 % by developing isotope dilution mass spectrometry.

  • LNE -Paris (France) – Training ICPOS, and isotope dilution Metro Food (EMPIR 16RPT01Chem Mat), 12.02.2018-02.03.2018 (3 weeks). Validate the developed methods of developing isotope dilution mass spectrometry and secondary pH procedures by participation in international comparisons organized by CCQM, EURAMET, and another RMO.

  • BAM – Berlin (Germany)- Training Karl Fischer Titration Method and Chromatography (EMPIR 16RPT02), 10.2017-19.10.2017 (1 week). Standard operating procedures for an analytical method for the reliable quantification of ethanol in water. Calculate the certified values of reference materials developed with uncertainty assessment.

  • Evatec - Liechtenstein (Switzerland) - Training materials evaporation for vacuum deposition using BAK700 Baltzer, 02.04.2013- 16.04.2013 (2 weeks). Developed the work procedures to transfer technology from Leybold to Balzer vacuum machines.

  • OphirOpt – Jerusalem (Israel) - Training optical coating designer in the IR spectral range 03.10.2012- 31.10.2012 (1 week). Developed Hard Carbon coating from spectral range (3-5 μm) substrate: Ge, Si and (8-12 μm) substrate: Ge.

  • Institute of Electronics - Sofia (Bulgaria) – Inter-Academic Exchange, 18.09.2011 - 30.09.2011 (2 weeks) Presented on "Surface Topography and Optical Properties of Ge-Sb(As)-S-Te Thin Films by Atomic Force Microscopy and Variable Angle Spectroscopic Ellipsometry" based on the collaboration between Romania-Bulgaria Institutes.
